DIRECTOR BIO
Joshua Hopper graduated magna cum laude from St. Ambrose University in 2016 with a degree in Music Education. There he participated in the University Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Chorus, and Music Ministry. In 2023, he went on to receive his Masters in Music in Music Education from Campbellsville University. He is an active saxophonist in the Ludington Guard Band and the Chippewa Valley Concert Band, the latter of which he also serves as president. He has been the Director of Bands at Regis Middle and High School since 2024, having held previous teaching roles in Lafeyette, Indiana; Burlington, IA; and Boyceville, WI. Now in his 11th year of teaching, he continues to look forward to meeting and getting to know his new and current students and is passionate about providing them with a high-quality musical environment.
In his free time, Mr. Hopper enjoys pursuing various activities that include reading and composing. In the time he's been at Regis, his ensembles have premiered three new works for Band and Percussion Ensemble: Cave of the Shadow People, Bombastic Bells, and Stickma! He resides in Menomonie with his wife and their Russian tortoise, Pickles, and Holland Lop, Oreo.
