Unit 1 Formation of the Covenant Between God and his People

Students 

Students will create a cartoon pictoral of the creation story

Students will demonstate knowlege of proper use of the Bible to search for specific passages

Students will participate in group discussion and self reflection

Students will make a vocabulary bingo game and play bingo to test knowlege of vocabulary.

Students will begin discussing and brainstormong stewardship opportunities for the 10 hour service hours encouraged for MS.  

Formative chapter reviews at the end of each chapter

September/October/ November

Unit 2 Building the Covenant Nation

Students will draw or build a blueprint/3D design of Solomon's Temple of Jerusalem in a group of individually

Students will review key points using Kahoot

Students will read about the enslavement in Israel and God's choosing Moses to lead the people to freedom in the promised land.

Students will identify the Old Testament Judges and know what they did as leaders of God's people

Formative- Open note chapter reviews (5)


Summative- Temple project

Encounter Bible study (Mark Hart)

December/January/ February
Unit 3 Redefining the Covenant People

Student will identify reasons for the split of Israel and the creation of the Northern and Southern Kingdoms

Students will read about the prophets of the old testament and be able to distunguish between tham based on their message to the people.

Students  will partake in a 7 session Bible Study led by Mark Hart based on Old Testament teachings and how they apply to them today

Formative testing of each chapter will continue.
