FAQs:
What is the FAFSA?
FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Colleges use this form to determine how much financial aid you’re eligible for. This aid comes in the forms of loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study experiences.
When do I need to fill out the FAFSA?
The FAFSA is open for the 2025-2026 school year as of October 1. You must re-apply every year that you would like to be considered eligible for financial aid, though it is a lot faster to re-apply after the initial application has been completed.
Who should complete a FAFSA form?
Any student can fill out a FAFSA form, regardless of income.
How long will it take?
On average, the FAFSA form takes about 30 minutes to fill out, as long as you have the documents on hand in which are needed to complete it.
What documents do I need?
