Welcome to Miss P's 6th and 7th grade social studies page!
This year we will be learning about the world's geography. In 6th grade we cover the "Western World," and in 7th grade it is the "Eastern World." That's a whole lot of stuff to learn...and it's a little intimidating. While there are some basic facts that will be necessary to memorize, I am most interested in helping students find viable and reliable sources of information. We all know the phrase, "I found it on the internet; it must be true." Hopefully by the end of the year students will be able to discern "good" and "bad" resources. Rather than a "teacher," I view myself more as a "Coordinator of Geographical Information Acquistion." Sounds pretty good, huh? Basically that means that we are ALL learners in my classroom. I look forward to learning amazing things about this wonderful and diverse world we live in.
The syllabus for each class is posted here on my website, and the basic outline of what we are currently doing in class will be posted in the "Assignment" area. Since I teach both 6th and 7th grade, please be aware that there will be two sets of infomation to choose from.
I am looking forward to a great year here at Regis Middle School. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have now or throughout the year. May God bless us all throughout this school year as we learn about His wonderful creation. Peace!
