What To Expect This School Year

  • Healthy Body: students will learn how physical activity improves their overall health and prevents disease.

  • Healthy Mind: students will learn how physical activity improves their mental health and mood.

  • Enjoyment and Challenge: students will participate in activities that they enjoy as well as activities that are challenging.

  • Building Skills: students will learn how to participate safely in physical education activities in different activity environments (home and school).

Priority Learning Outcomes for Physical Education

  • Movement Skills and Concepts: Locomotor Skills, Non-Locomotor Skills, Manipulative Skills, Movement Concepts

  • Demonstrates Fitness Knowledge: Physical Activity Knowledge, Fitness Knowledge, Fitness Programming, Nutrition

  • Demonstrates Responsible Behaviors: Personal Responsibility and Safety, Accepting Feedback, Working with Others, Etiquette

Grade Policy in Elementary Physical Education is primarily based on these four areas:
