My Classroom

Welcome to Our Fifth Grade Classroom!

In our fifth-grade classroom, students grow not only academically, but also spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Rooted in our Catholic faith, we strive to create a Christ-centered environment where each child feels safe, supported, and valued.

Our classroom is a place where students are encouraged to think critically, work collaboratively, and strive for their personal best. We integrate faith into daily learning through prayer, Scripture, service projects, and the teachings of Jesus. Catholic values such as kindness, respect, responsibility, and compassion are woven into everything we do from academics to interactions with peers.

Academically, students are challenged through a rich curriculum that includes religion, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Technology, hands-on learning, and creative projects help bring the material to life and keep students engaged.

Fifth grade is also a year of growing independence and personal responsibility. Students begin to take more ownership of their learning and are guided in developing study habits and organizational skills that will serve them well in the future.

In fifth grade, students are expected to take on more responsibility for their learning through both daily and weekly assignments. These tasks help reinforce classroom instruction and build important study habits.

Daily assignments include:

  • Reading for at least 15 minutes

  • Practicing math facts for 10 minutes

  • Reviewing the weekly spelling list

Weekly assignments may include:

  • Math worksheets

  • Reading activities

  • Projects for various subjects

It is crucial that all assignments are completed and turned in by their due dates so we can continue our lessons without delay and ensure all students are staying on track. Meeting deadlines also helps students build responsibility and confidence in their work.

Thank you for your support at home as we work together to help your child grow academically and develop strong habits for future success!

We love to celebrate every student’s special day in our classroom! If it is your child’s birthday, they are welcome to: Wear free dress for the day and Bring in a birthday treat to share with the class (store-bought or homemade—please be mindful of allergies). If your child’s birthday falls on a weekend or during a break, we’re happy to celebrate on a nearby school day! Let me know in advance if you plan to send a treat so we can prepare accordingly. We’re excited to make each birthday feel special!

Above all, my goal is to partner with you in helping your child become the person God created them to be: faith-filled, confident, and ready to make a positive difference in the world.
