Fr. Peter Kieffer

Hi everyone!

My name is Fr. Peter Kieffer.  I am excited to be the new chaplain at Regis!  Here is a little bit about me:

I grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and graduated from Aquinas High School in 2007. After a few years in college, I began formation for the priesthood at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minnesota, graduating from St. Mary’s University in Winona in 2012. I then continued my formation for the priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. After some time in Rome, I returned to Wisconsin, where I finished my formation for the priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee. I was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Callahan in 2017 and spent the first few years of priesthood serving at St. Matthew and Holy Name Parishes in Wausau, as well as the chaplain at Newman Catholic High School and Middle School in Wausau.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My parents are still in La Crosse, and my three older siblings have started their own families now. I has seven nephews and one niece. Some of my hobbies include watching detective shows and keeping up on current events in the world. I like walking and playing tennis and volleyball. I enjoy learning other languages and am proficient in Spanish. I also like singing and playing the piano.

In addition to serving as chaplain at Regis, I also serve as the Parochial Vicar at St. Mary's Parish in Altoona and St. Raymond's Parish in Fall Creek.

I am happy that the Lord has brought me here to the Eau Claire area, and I hope he keeps me here for a while!

God bless,

Fr. Peter
