Fr. Levi Schmitt Named New Regis Chaplain

Fr. Levi Schmitt has been named as our new Chaplain at Regis Middle School and Regis High School.

Fr. Schmitt grew up in Spring Valley, Wisconsin. After high school, he joined St. John Vianney Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. After completing his undergraduate studies, he entered St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary in Milwaukee. Three months before his ordination to the priesthood, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, he began a temporary assignment at St. Mary’s in Altoona. Fr. Schmitt is currently completing his assignment in Wisconsin Rapids where he served as associate pastor of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and was Chaplain at Assumption Middle School and Assumption High School.

In his free time, Fr. Schmitt enjoys biking, kayaking, drinking coffee, chopping wood, reading, TV, and spending time with family and friends. He looks forward to returning to the Eau Claire area and becoming a part of Regis Catholic Schools!

Fr. Peter Kieffer, our current Chaplain at Regis Middle School and Regis High School, has been appointed Parochial Administrator of Immaculate Conception Parish in Alma Center and St. Joseph Parish in Fairview, with residence at the Immaculate Conception Parish rectory in Alma Center effective July 5.

Please keep both Fr. Kieffer and Fr. Schmitt in your prayers as they make their transitions.
