Fr. Peter Kieffer has been named as our new Chaplain at Regis Middle School and Regis High School.
Fr. Kieffer grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Aquinas High School in 2007. After a few years in college, he began formation for the priesthood at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minnesota, graduating from St. Mary’s University in Winona in 2012. Fr. Kieffer then continued his formation for the priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. After some time in Rome, he returned to Wisconsin, where he finished his formation for the priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee. Fr. Kieffer was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Callahan in 2017 and spent the first few years of priesthood serving at St. Matthew and Holy Name Parishes in Wausau, as well as the chaplain at Newman Catholic High School and Middle School in Wausau.
In his free time, Fr. Kieffer enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His parents are still in La Crosse, and his three older siblings have started their own families now. Fr. Kieffer has seven nephews and one niece. Some of his hobbies include watching detective shows and keeping up on current events in the world. He likes walking and playing tennis and volleyball. Fr. Kieffer enjoys learning other languages and is proficient in Spanish. He also likes singing and playing the piano.
