The Reverand Alan Guanella, Associate Pastor of St. Mary Parish in Altoona and St. Raymond of Penafort Parish in southern Eau Claire County, and Chaplain at Regis Middle School and Regis High School, has been assigned to full-time Graduate Studies in Canon Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. This move is effective June 1. His last event locally will be the Regis Baccalaureate Mass and graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 24.

Bishop Callahan has named a replacement, Fr. Daniel Thelen. Effective June 29, Fr. Thelen will begin his new assignment as Chaplain at Regis Middle School and Regis High School, and as Associate Pastor at St. Mary Parish and St. Raymond of Penafort Parish. He will also be assisting Fr. Sakowski with Hispanic Ministry. Fr. Thelen is currently the Associate Pastor of St. Matthew Parish and Holy Name Parish in Wausau, and Chaplain at Newman Middle School. He is originally from Clear Lake, Wisconsin. He studied horticulture in college before moving to Boyd, where he heard and answered the call to the priesthood. He attended seminary for two years at Mundelein Seminary (Illinois) and then four years in Rome.

We welcome Fr. Thelen to Regis Catholic Schools! Please keep both he and Fr. Guanella in your prayers as they make these transitions.
