Academics

Exceptional Teachers and Staff

Regis Catholic Schools employs dedicated teachers and staff members who are enthusiastic, accomplished educators. They have the know-how to engage students in reaching new heights, even exceeding the student’s own expectations. Our teachers are committed to helping and supporting your child in the learning process with individual attention and group exploration.

International Student Coordinator

Our International Student Coordinator is dedicated to overseeing your child’s academic, social and personal growth while attending Regis Catholic Schools. She provides support and coordinates guidance to ensure that each student is on the right path to achieve all of their goals and to become a full, participating member of the school community. Weekly meetings are initially scheduled to make sure that each international student is adapting to the new culture in a positive and productive manner. She regularly contacts each host family to confirm that each student has the best support system available to him/her and that everything is going smoothly and efficiently for both the student and host family.

Our Students

The students at Regis Catholic Schools acknowledge the diversity of others and their beliefs. Our student body is open to students of all faiths and backgrounds; they willingly and warmly accept international students to participate in the many activities at Regis Catholic Schools. They are challenged at all grade levels to have a strong level of discipline and academic excellence. Our students are recognized at all levels for academic accomplishments, awards in co-curricular activities and service to our community.

Courses

Regis Catholic Schools offers a complete comprehensive program for all age levels with a wide range of course selections. We offer a demanding and interactive program where students of all abilities are challenged to fulfill their unique potential and given opportunities to pursue their own specific interests. Our academic teams and clubs are continually recognized with highest honors at the local and state levels.  By emphasizing leadership, academic excellence and service to others, our students are prepared for great success in college and in life. Currently, in addition to the regular high school courses, we offer three Honors Classes (Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry and Honors Calculus) and various AP Classes. These classes offer the opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school.

Community Life

Co-Curricular Opportunities

Numerous opportunities are available to our students to explore their interests and showcase their talents. Often these opportunities develop into life long careers or hobbies. Band, Choir, Drama, Forensics, Technology Club, Foreign Language Clubs, Academic Challenge, National Honor Society, Environmental Club and Art Club are just some of the opportunities available to our students. Athletic opportunities include soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, volleyball, etc. All of these activities provide the opportunity to bring students, families and the community together to celebrate Regis Catholic Schools.

College Exams and Scholarships

Our students consistently score higher than other schools at the local, state and national levels on the SAT and the ACT college entrance exams. Many of them receive thousands of dollars in scholarships to attend the country’s most prestigious universities.

Local University

Regis Catholic Schools is located in the same city as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC). UWEC currently has more than 150 international students enrolled this year. The local proximity to the university offers numerous cultural and educational opportunities. According to the U.S. News, UWEC is ranked in the top 25 of Midwest Regional Universities. Please see www.uwec.edu for more information on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Social Events

In addition to the school-sponsored activities, all international students and host families are encouraged to meet once or twice a month to share ideas and to facilitate establishing bonds between all students and host families. These social events allow greater interaction between all host families and international students along with building a greater community support group for everyone. These opportunities outside of class time are also used to monitor the students’ progress as they adjust to the new language, school and culture. Varying locations and different group activities allows international students the opportunity to truly experience many facets of the American culture.

Housing

Global Outreach welcomes students from six east-central European countries (Czechia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine) to study in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Minnesota Catholic high schools for one year. It's mission is the formation of young, dynamic Catholic servant leaders for the 21st century.

By opening your heart and home, you will give an exceptional young person an experience of a lifetime – to live with an American family and experience the language, customs, culture, and faith life of our country.

To learn more about this amazing 'host family' opportunity, please contact Barbara Tota-Boryczka at (920) 540-3085 or barbara.tota-boryczka@globaloutreachprogram.com or Fr. Larry Seidl at (920) 412-0320 or ljseidl1949@gmail.com.

It is with extreme diligence that host families are selected for our international students. These families have volunteered to open their home and share their lives with our international students and they receive compensation to help offset the living expenses associated with being a host family. International students are welcomed into these homes so that these students may realize their dreams and goals of an education in the United States.

In addition to providing food and shelter for our international students, our host families provide a safe and secure environment in a home that these students can call their own. Oftentimes, our host families already have their own children attending our schools and are already very active in the school community. This connection to the school allows our international students a promising, fulfilling and supportive experience at Regis Catholic Schools!

These families live in the local Eau Claire community and transportation to and from school will be provided or arranged for by each family.

Student Orientation

The International Student Coordinator coordinates with each student and family their arrival into the Eau Claire area. Students are encouraged to fly into the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, located in Eau Claire. That person will be there to welcome you, transport you to your host family and to make sure you have everything you need at that time.

Regis Catholic Schools will have some informational and fun-filled activities planned for the week prior to school starting. These activities may include the following:

  • Setting up a bank account
  • Shopping for school supplies
  • Informational meetings on school policies and procedures
  • Tour of the school
  • Tour of the city
  • Meet and greet with current faculty and staff
  • Fun-filled outings which will allow international students the opportunity to interact with both local and other international students
  • During the year, a trip to the St. Paul/Minneapolis area will be scheduled
  • Opportunity to meet the host family

Testimonials

Kendall Alexander, Class of 2022
"Catholic Schools is a huge part of my life. I have been at Regis Catholic Schools since preschool, and I couldn't imagine receiving my education anywhere else. Teachers are able to incorporate the moral truths of the church into their everyday curriculum, whether it's a religion class or not. We are able to pray at school before every class and with teams before sporting events. I am so appreciative for the opportunity and for my parents' decision to send me to a place where school is more than an education."
