The Energy Bus for Schools

Regis Catholic Schools is excited to board The Energy Bus for the 2017-18 school year!

The Energy Bus for Schools Leadership Journey (EBSLJ) is a transformational, multi-year approach that helps schools to create and sustain a positive school culture and develop positive leaders at all levels.

Jon Gordon, best-selling author and speaker on topics of leadership, culture, sales, and teamwork and his co-founder, Niki Spears, former educator, administrator, and change leader, have teamed up to provide schools with a framework that will support them on their journey to creating and sustaining a positive school culture. Using proven principals from Jon's bestselling books, The Energy Bus and The Energy Bus for Kids, Jon and Niki have outlined seven principals that will serve as buliding blocks to create a positive culture and overcome the negativity prevalent in many schools.

Below are the seven principles along with a brief description:

Principle 1: You’re the Driver – Reinforces taking personal responsibility for your actions, not blaming or complaining, but feeling empowered to take risk and make the necessary changes to get the results you desire.
Principle 2: Create a Positive Vision - Teaches students to set positive personal and academic goals as they become active participants in the learning process.
Principle 3: Drive with Purpose – Students discover their unique talents and how they can utilize these gifts to determine their purpose.
Principle 4: Fuel Your Ride with Positive Energy - Reveals ways to become a more positive person while learning how your behavior can impact everyone in the learning community.
Principle 5: Transform Negativity – Look at ways to turn challenges into great opportunities for learning and growth.
Principle 6: LOVE Your Passengers – Seeing the true gift in every person we meet as we find ways to serve our school and our community.
Principle 7: Enjoy the Ride! – Reinforces the importance of living a happy and healthy life.

Research clearly shows that culture and leadership greatly influence a school's learning environment, along with student and adult success. That's why the EBSLJ works hand-in-hand with schools to create a culture where school leaders, students, teachers, staff, and families develop positive leadership together.

Regis Catholic Schools is the first Catholic school system in the country to become Energy Bus certified! The Energy Bus for Schools Leadership Journey will complement Our Core Values as we reinforce the importance of Living Faith, Accepting Responsibility, Promoting Teamwork, Achieving Excellence, and Inspiring Leadership.

"Our administrative team here at Regis Catholic Schools feels every one of our educators and staff members is a leader in his or her own way," said Mark Gobler. "We have decided to participate in The Energy Bus for Schools Leadership Journey because we feel it will inspire all of us to take a closer look at our perceived status in the Regis Catholic Schools system. We are not isolated islands. We all depend on each other and this program will help show us what we have in common as we move towards a shared vision for the good of our students."
