Co-Curricular Activities

One of the benefits that Regis Middle School and Regis High School students have is the opportunity to be involved in multiple activities at once.

Many students are in a few clubs, activities, and athletics all at the same time.

This allows our students to expand their interests, rather than just being an athlete or just being a musician, for example.

Campus Ministry

Band & Choir

The Regis High School Choir is an ensemble that provides students with the experience of working together towards a variety of social and musical goals. The choir performs music of many styles and periods throughout the year and performs in a minimum of four concerts, including a fall concert, Christmas concert, Pops concert and spring concert.

In addition, each student has the opportunity to study a solo piece for the WSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival in individual lessons, usually beginning in the spring semester. The choir also performs for a number of all-school Masses, at holiday parties and luncheons and annually in the WSMA Large Group Choral Festival at Memorial High School in April.

Opportunities are also available for soloists or small ensembles to cantor in school Masses and to sing the National Anthem at Regis sporting events, as well as other events. The choir also tours every two years, having performed in cities such as Chicago and New York City in the past. During non-touring years, the students have the opportunity to attend a musical or dinner theatre performance, usually in the Twin Cities.

Environmental Club

Forensics

Forensics is a co-curricular activity that provides students with an opportunity to develop, practice and master skills in public speaking and/or acting.

The annual informational meeting is held mid-December marks the unofficial start of the Forensics season. Practice begins in early January and then the race is on to choose a category, find a suitable composition and master its performance so as to convince a panel of judges that the efforts earn a trip to Madison.

Most of the season's ten tournaments are held on Saturdays. The season peaks in February and March; however, students qualifying for state or national competition may continue performing until the end of April or May.

Ms. Judine Brey is the coach and welcomes any adult members of the Regis family who are willing to help judge and chaperon meets.

Student Government

The Regis High School Student Government group is made up of four Student Council officers and representative from each Advisory group.

It helps with all-school fundraisers, sponsors a dance in December, presents student concerns to the administration and serves as an advisory body for the administration.

Sturgeon Bowl

Theater

Each year, Regis presents one full-length play during the fall semester. Students are given the opportunity to build and enhance their talents in the areas of acting and/or scenic and technical production.

Cast and crewmembers of the play meet after school for rehearsals five nights per week for eight to nine weeks.

There are typically no weekend rehearsals, but they may be scheduled if needed.

Yearbook

The Regis High School yearbook, or Chi-Rho, is a student-produced publication that chronicles the passing years at Regis. From layout and design to copywriting and photography, students create a unique work each year, while learning the fundamentals of publication. Students use and master the most up-to-date software and digital technology, as well as traditional means of producing a quality yearbook.

Testimonials

Kendall Alexander, Class of 2022
"Catholic Schools is a huge part of my life. I have been at Regis Catholic Schools since preschool, and I couldn't imagine receiving my education anywhere else. Teachers are able to incorporate the moral truths of the church into their everyday curriculum, whether it's a religion class or not. We are able to pray at school before every class and with teams before sporting events. I am so appreciative for the opportunity and for my parents' decision to send me to a place where school is more than an education."
